Now the light is out. Note the 'hook' on the far end of the lamp housing, which goes into that triangular hole on the very top center of the picture.

Grab the white thing with the wires, twist it slightly to unhook it, then pull it out. If you look inside the light housing (at the bulb) while you twist it is very obvious what you should do.

Pull out the stock bulb. Laugh at it for a bit.
Stick the M6 in, being careful not to touch it with your bare hands. If you do, wipe off any finger oil residue on the bulb.

Gently but firmly push the bulb into the original hole. This should not be difficult if you push the bulb straight in.
Some people twist the bulb as they push, and one mechanically inclined person used a routing tool to make the opening 1mm wider. I had no problems just pushing it in, but your mileage will vary.

Reassemble everything by following these steps in reverse order.
