Random thoughts:
- Switzerland is expensive, especially housing.
On average, I paid about $100 a night for a room that was smaller than my bedroom.
- Extremely safe place to visit, even safer than Australia.
I have never seen so many female tourists traveling alone.
- Weather is very erratic - you needed to keep a constant eye on the weather forecast,
especially in the mountain areas (aka Wengen). Dressing in layers was very helpful.
- My suitcase is mid-sized (10x18x25 inches) and it was still 'too large' meaning
I could barely roll it onto trains.
- The Swiss Pass is not worth the money unless you REALLY go wild with transit.
And make sure to get it in advance - it's even more expensive if you get it there.
- Switzerland uses its own currency, so it's annoying to traven in and out of
Switerland. Not as big of a deal if you stay within Switzerland, though.
- If I could do it again, I would probably cut Bern out and spend more time
in Montreux & Luzern. I blew a lot of time on trains (although the scenery
was very nice).
